Glimpses of God
At Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Primary School, we believe that we see Glimpses of God every day — in the kindness, joy, and love shared throughout our school community. These moments remind us that God is always present, guiding and inspiring us to live out our mission:
“As the family of God, with Jesus, we love, learn and enjoy.”
Here are some of the ways we experience Glimpses of God in our daily school life:
-
In our friendships: When children show kindness, include others in play, or comfort someone who is feeling sad, we see God’s love in action.
-
In our learning: When pupils persevere, work together and celebrate each other’s achievements, we see the gifts and talents God has given each of us.
-
In prayer and liturgy: During moments of reflection, prayer and liturgy, we feel God’s presence among us, uniting us as one family in faith.
-
In acts of service: When our pupils take part in fundraising, charity work and outreach within the parish and local community, they live out the call to serve others as Jesus taught.
-
In nature: When we explore God’s creation—through outdoor learning, caring for our school environment, or noticing the beauty around us—we are reminded of His creativity and goodness.
-
In forgiveness: When children say sorry, forgive and begin again, we see God’s mercy at work in our relationships.
-
In joy: Whether it’s singing in assembly, celebrating achievements, or simply enjoying time together, we see Glimpses of God in the happiness and laughter that fill our school.
Every member of our community—children, staff, parents, and parish—plays a part in making these Glimpses of God visible each day.
Together, we recognise and celebrate the many ways God’s love shines through our school family.
