Residential
Each year we take the Year 6 children on a residential. For many of our children this is the first time they are staying away from their parents and whilst it can be quite daunting for some children, it is the experience that all the children in Year 6 talk about in their best primary school memories.
As a school we have visited many residential places over the years but the one place we find ourselves returning to is Lineham Farm.
Lineham Farm Children’s Centre is a registered charity providing activity holidays for over 1,000 children from Leeds every year, it is a 17th century converted farm, nestling in beautiful Yorkshire countryside on the outskirts of Leeds. They offer a vast range of activities, indoor and out, for the children to take part in. Some are educational, some relaxing, and all of them fun.
Activities include: Cycling, Archery, Climbing, Low-ropes, Orienteering, Bushcraft, Walking, Building campfires, Growing plants, Nature-watching, Learning about wildlife, Caring for farm animals, Emergency training, Learning the countryside code, Arts and crafts, Singing and dancing, Sensory activities, Team games.
